Dr. André Barreira da Silva Rocha holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Essex, England (2011). He was a professor at the Universities of Essex, Greater Manchester and Leicester before becoming a professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, where he has carried out his research and teaching activities since January 2014. He has experience in the areas of Mathematics Applied, Operational Research and Finance, working on the following research themes: evolutionary game theory, genetic algorithms, agent-based simulation, evolution of cooperation in games and real options. Before starting his doctorate, he worked in industry at the companies Eletronuclear, Vale, Banco Itaú, Petrobrás Distribuidora, Varig and Banco Santander. He is a member of the Finance and Investment Analysis Concentration Area.
