Undergraduate

The Professional

Works with the design, planning, and management of production systems for goods and services, characterized by the integration of people, materials, equipment, and the environment, aiming to increase productivity and quality.
May work in production organization and work methods, cost and project evaluation, financial management, transportation and logistics, statistical methods, mathematical modeling, and the use of computational tools to solve organizational problems.

The Program

It is structured to prepare students for the professional practice of Production Engineering, with a solid foundation in engineering sciences and methods, humanities, and social sciences.

The program is based on two main pillars: the first aims to provide students with a strong scientific background in mathematics and basic statistics, along with the technological foundations specific to Production Engineering, particularly those related to production processes. The second pillar is designed to familiarize students with the design and management of production systems in general.A wide range of specialized courses covers topics such as process and materials management, production system design, quality management, corporate finance, marketing, logistics, and workplace conditions.

Elective courses are organized according to areas of interest, allowing students to choose a more in-depth focus in Finance and Risk Analysis (FAR), Operations Research and Analytics (POA), or Production Systems (SPR).

Opportunities

The field of work for production engineers extends from manufacturing companies to service organizations such as financial institutions, retail businesses, logistics operators, schools, hospitals, government agencies, and more. Their roles in these organizations include the specification, management, and control of production systems and processes, performance evaluation, and the implementation of improvements in operations and working conditions.
