In its 50 nine years of existence, the Industrial Engineering Department of PUC-RIO (DEI) is continuously being specialized in subjects addressed by this engineering, through the efforts of its professors, in the sense of offering excellent education and orientation, both in the undergraduate and graduate level, and to realize academic researches, which results are linked to the formation of human resources, and which are published in qualified scientific journals with high national and international penetration.
In the Undergraduate level, DEI offers the Production Engineering course, envisaging preparing the student for a global performance, thus rendering a socioeconomic perspective, and stimulating the international student exchange with reputable educational institutions abroad, and receiving foreign students. Presently, the undergraduate in Production Engineering is responsible for almost half of the engineers that are qualified at PUC-Rio annually, and which are avidly absorbed by the market.
DEI’s Graduate courses, which involve academic and professional master degree and doctorate in Production Engineering, divided in three concentration areas: Finances and Investment Analysis, Production Management and Transport and Logistic, have the objective to attend the qualification demand of researchers and of highly qualified personnel.
The DEI counts on a modern microcomputer network and a sophisticated and varied software set, which it allocates to its students and researchers, thus turning the utilization of database and quantitative methods for research and training possible.
