Davi Michel Valladão

Davi Valladão is a professor at the Industrial Engineering Department, PUC-Rio.  He is a founder and research director of LAMPS and his research interests are optimization under uncertainty, machine learning, and statistics applied to industry, services, and societal problems. Topics of particular interest are energy, finance, business analytics, pricing and revenue management, and risk management in general. Before entering into PUC-Rio as Professor, Davi was a member of the Natural Resources Optimization Group of IBM Research – Brazil. Davi has a Doctorate in Decision Support Systems (2011) in the Electric Engineering Department of PUC-Rio. As part of his Ph.D. program, he was a visiting researcher in the Operation Research and Financial Engineering (ORFE) of the University of Princeton. Besides, Davi has a master’s degree in Actuarial Sciences and Finances (2008), and a bachelor’s degree in Electric and Industrial Engineering (2006) via PUC-Rio.
